Abstract

Access to education in remote regions of Colombia with limited or no internet connectivity remains a major challenge. This article examines the educational needs of the population in these areas and assesses which technologies and pedagogical approaches can help address existing logistical and technological barriers. Through the validation of a research instrument, the study identified key obstacles to educational access, including lack of connectivity, insufficient devices, and restricted availability of digital resources. Based on these findings, the analysis outlines the essential functionalities that an offline educational platform should incorporate in order to promote equitable access to learning. The results provide a practical framework for the design of a sustainable alternative, characterized by ease of use, content synchronization, and interaction independent of internet access. Beyond its implementation in low-connectivity contexts, this initiative is proposed as a replicable model for institutions and organizations seeking to reduce the digital divide in vulnerable communities, reaffirming a commitment to democratization of education and inclusive development in underserved regions of the country.
