Creative Writing: Beyond the Production of a Text
Main Article Content
Abstract
The aim of this article is to reflect on writing as a creative activity, starting from a writing exercise developed under the pressure of the preventive lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The methodology considered was the narrative writing process itself, which allowed for self-exploration and a stance of resistance or refuge. The result was a text for everyone, especially children and young people, entitled “Mom is an Astronaut,” an allegory for the teachers who worked virtually during the pandemic. The article concludes that creative activity transcends the limits of the writer’s initial plan, as creative development unfolds gradually throughout the writing process, with each idea revealing interconnected details that imbue the text with meaning.
